Clubs and Groups

Crafternoon

Crafternoon is a relaxed craft club on the fourth Sunday of each month for anyone who wants to make things and meet new people. This is an unstructured, bring-your-own-project kind of gathering or you can use some of our supplies. Drawing, knitting, collage, mending, writing, painting, and similar crafts are all welcome. There’s no class or instruction, just a comfortable space to work on something creative and connect with others. Come on your own or with friends!

Free to attend. Some Supplies are available. Optional donations help support the space, which can be made through the registration fee.

Dnd For Kids

Come join our Dungeons and Dragons group for a fun and exciting time! The class is led by our one and only Lee Gorton, who has mastered the craft of being a dungeon master to facilitate an incredible adventure for kids and adults of all ages! If your child enjoys using their imagination and going on thrilling adventures, this is the perfect group for them! We promise a welcoming environment where everyone, regardless of their experience level, can come together to explore fantastic worlds and create unforgettable stories. In our sessions, participants will have the opportunity to roll dice, embark on quests, and make new friends, all while exercising their creativity in a safe and supportive setting. Bring your enthusiasm and let the adventure begin!

Parent or Guardian of younger kids are required to be present during the session for liability reasons, as we want to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. We encourage a collaborative spirit among all players, ensuring everyone feels included. Your involvement is invaluable, and together we can help foster the next generation of imaginative storytellers!

Resilience Club

Resilience Club: A Community Discussion Group

The resilience club is a community discussion group for El Sobrante and residents of Richmond, San Pablo and surrounding localities. We are here to discuss resilience not as a means only of survival, but as a way we can come to thrive in the places we inhabit.

Purpose

The purpose of this meeting is not to virtue signal, pose as an expert or pretend we know what is ‘right.’ It is to discuss, as members of a community, what we think resilience means, how we can help each other achieve this and how we can turn preparedness into a better way of being in the world.

This gathering invites open, grounded conversation about what resilience can look like in our local context. Topics may include:

  • Psychological resilience

  • Food systems and local food security

  • Shelter and housing

  • Materials (construction, textiles, food storage, tools)

  • Skills (building, farming, medicine, ecological stewardship, emergency response, critical thinking)

  • Personal wellness

  • Self-defense

  • Wildfire preparedness, natural disasters, and defensible space

Spanish Club

Come practice your Spanish and English at The Shed’s monthly intercambio on everybody Fourth Wednesday. We will listen to and translate Spanish and English songs and help each other gain confidence and skill in both English and Spanish.

We will be here every Fourth Wednesday between 6 and 8pm!
