Resilience Club Meeting

$5.00

Resilience Club: A Community Discussion Group

The resilience club is a community discussion group for El Sobrante and residents of Richmond, San Pablo and surrounding localities. We are here to discuss resilience not as a means only of survival, but as a way we can come to thrive in the places we inhabit.

This gathering invites open, grounded conversation about what resilience can look like in our local context. Topics may include:

  • Psychological resilience

  • Food systems and local food security

  • Shelter and housing

  • Materials (construction, textiles, food storage, tools)

  • Skills (building, farming, medicine, ecological stewardship, emergency response, critical thinking)

  • Personal wellness

  • Self-defense

  • Wildfire preparedness, natural disasters, and defensible space

Format
This is a structured, participatory conversation designed to give everyone space to reflect and contribute:

  • Opening with three minutes of silence

  • Optional two-minute uninterrupted sharing per participant

  • Open group discussion

  • Closing with action planning and next steps

Purpose

The purpose of this meeting is not to virtue signal, pose as an expert or pretend we know what is ‘right.’ It is to discuss, as members of a community, what we think resilience means, how we can help each other achieve this and how we can turn preparedness into a better way of being in the world.
