Philosophy for Children | 6-week series
Get ready to think, question, and maybe even change your mind!
What makes something fair? Can a rule be wrong? Is it possible to be brave and scared at the same time? Is it ever okay to lie? Every week, we start with a story, an image, a game, or a thought experiment that inspires a question the group decides to explore together.
No lectures. No one-right-answer. Just a circle of curious kids learning to articulate their thoughts, disagree respectfully, and make sense of big questions together.
Kids who practice philosophical inquiry build habits that stick: forming their own views, listening before responding, curiosity about others’ perspectives, and changing their minds when presented with good reasons.
What to expect
A guaranteed hour of genuine thinking, a group that actively listens, questions your kid will probably still be talking over at dinner, and a lot of fun!
Meet Your Facilitator
Hi, I'm Debi! An educator, philosophical thinker, and new El Sobrante local. I've spent 12 years facilitating philosophical inquiry with K-12 students and teachers and I'm currently building a school in the East Bay around exactly this kind of thinking. I believe all children ask profound philosophical questions. This circle is where they get to discuss them with their peers.
