7/10: Mermaid and Rainbow Fairy Workshop
If your child loves magical creatures and enjoys crafting, we have a great workshop they will love! Inspired by Alice Wong of Wands & Willows and her beautiful creations, we’ll be using floral petals, wood beads, embroidery floss, yarn, pipe cleaners, felt, and ribbons to create unique dolls in a series of classes coming in the future. Each student will choose from different color options for hair, dresses, and accessories, making each doll unique. Accessories and glitter will be available for those who want to get super creative.
Along with a fairies, we will also be creating fun and whimsical succulent projects!
7/17: Fairy House Project:
With a lotus pod as a roof, we'll decoupage a fairy house with tissue, add windows and door and landscape the house with moss, rocks, and plant material to create a magical house that any fairy would be proud to live in!
7/24: Succulent Teapot:
Each child will paint a teapot and then plant it with colorful succulents!
7/31: Succulent Fairy Garden:
We'll start by painting a terracotta pot, followed by selecting from a fun selections of fairy accessories and houses. Then succulents will be planted, and finishing touches of rocks and pebbles will be added to create a fun and vibrant masterpiece!
The Instructor:
The class will be taught by Mona Chin, who's a substitute teacher at the local elementary schools and has been teaching afterschool classes at both Olinda and Valleyview Elementary. Oh, she's also the Class Coordinator for The Shed!
