Sewing 101-The Basics
In this hands-on beginner class, you’ll learn the basics of using a sewing machine and practice a variety of stitches while building confidence with your machine. You’ll also learn how to choose the right fabric, thread, and needles for your project. We’ll cover pattern basics, fabric preparation, laying out and pinning your pattern, and accurate cutting. Then put your new skills to work by creating a simple pillow to take home. Limited to 4 students for personalized instruction.
What to bring: Your own sewing machine, or borrow one of ours. No previous sewing experience required.
Who this class is good for:
13+ to adults wishing to learn basic sewing skills to hem pants, create home decor, upcycling clothing and more.
